Self Storage Units: Renting Online 101

So, you’ve decided you need a self storage unit. Whether you have extra stuff, you’re moving or downsizing, you decided to clean out the garage, you have business inventory you don’t want to keep at home, or your in-laws are moving in with you; Moove In Self Storage has the storage solutions you need. The best part is that you can rent online at your convenience, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. You no longer have to worry about scheduling your rental around our regular business hours.

The first thing you’ll want to do is check out our website at to see which storage unit sizes we have available. From the home page, you’ll click on “Rent Now”. You can simply type in your zip code and find the locations near you. Simply select your preferred Moove In store, and click on “Visit Location”. You will see information about that location, and you can click on “Rent or Reserve Online” to bring up the list of those available sizes. Simply choose your desired size and click the box that reads “Rent Now!”.

The next page is where you’ll choose your insurance plan. Simply click on the box that best represents the value of the items you’ll be storing. Below that will be any available discounts that may be offered. Click on your desired discount, for example: “Free Month! On Select Units”. Clicking continue will move you on to the next page where you’ll create your free account. After entering the required personal information, you’ll be asked for your billing information. You have the option to save your credit card as an autopay option, which will automatically charge your storage rent on the first of the month. This can be changed or discontinued at any time; either by logging in to your account to make the change yourself or by stopping in to the rental office during regular business hours to have the property manager take care of it for you.

The very last thing on the page is the Terms of Use. Please take the time to read through it before checking the box that you agree with the terms. These are essentially the rental agreement spelled out for you without the signature or initial boxes present.

When you have successfully completed your online self storage rental, you will receive a confirmation email.  This email includes your unit number and a temporary gate access code. This means you can move in right away, even outside of office hours or on a Sunday. However, you can only move in between our gate access hours of 6am-10pm, which are in place for your safety and the safety of our other tenants. This temporary gate access code does expire, so the property manager will be in touch with you very soon after your move in to update you to a permanent, and individual, access code that you’ll use going forward.

Please note: In your confirmation email your unit number will have “ZZ” listed at the end of it. The “ZZ” may appear like it is part of your storage unit number. However, it is not and can be disregarded. This is simply used by our coding system to notate which storage units are ready for online rental.

Upon arriving at the storage property, enter your gate access code to gain entry. There are instructions on the keypad on how to enter your gate access code. Some properties require a * symbol at the end, while others require a * symbol first, then your gate access code, and then the # symbol. The map link included with your confirmation email will help you find your storage unit on the property. You can save this map to your computer or mobile device, as it is formatted as a PDF and can be universally read. Once you arrive to your storage unit, you will discover a yellow security tag on the door. Simply twist that until it breaks off. Inside your new storage unit is a Welcome Kit which includes a new disc lock as well as folder full of important information as well as helpful tips.

Once you have placed your items in your new storage unit, closed the door and secured the disc lock, simply use your gate access code again to exit the property.
